The Awakened Artists platform has been set up by artist Alexander de Cadenet to showcase specially invited artists whose work accesses a deeper spiritual dimension. This platform was inspired by a meeting with spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle in 2016 and discussions about the spiritual dimension in art.
MANIFESTO
The Awakened Artists is an international community of visual artists who believe that the production of art is a spiritual act and contributes towards the evolving consciousness of those that create it and also those that experience it.
Our goals are:
1. To contribute towards a deeper awareness and consciousness in people’s lives through art.
2. To offer insights into ‘yugen’ – the traditional Japanese Buddhist practice of experiencing the profound, mysterious sense of the beauty of the universe.
3. To inspire and encourage new and existing artists to make art that contributes towards a deeper awareness and consciousness in people’s lives through their own artwork.
